The Broad Prize application process consists of three stages:
1. Initial Applications:
|
Initial applications are provided to high schools in the five eligible districts for distribution through guidance counselors or other school officials. Eligible candidates may also download an initial application (PDF).
The initial application deadline for the 2008/09 Broad Prize scholarship program is Dec.15, 2008. |
2. Secondary Applications:
|
Approximately 450 semifinalists from across the five eligible school districts are then selected to complete a secondary application based on:
- Performance from the ninth through 11th grades, as measured by improved grade point average or class rank
- Demonstrated financial need
Applicants selected to complete a secondary application will be notified in February 2009. |
3. Selection of the Winners:
|
An independent application review committee comprised of admissions and financial aid professionals from colleges and universities located in or near the five finalist districts reviews materials submitted by the semifinalists and chooses the winners.
The winners of the 2008/09 Broad Prize scholarship will be announced in May and June 2009. |
